How to read and post on the Steem blockchain when Steemit is down

Steemit has been attacker by DDoS'ers in the past, and might be again in the future, and during these attacks we are all unable to use Steemit to post and interact with other people. However, it is still possible to use other services to access the Steem blockchain, even when Steemit is offline!

You your the same usersname and password as you do on Steemit, and everything is exactly the same. Anything you post, upvote, edit or delete on any of these services will affect all the other services, including Steemit. 

One of the most popular alternative services to access the Steem blockchain is http://busy.org. Busy looks a lot like Steemit, but is formed more like a classic social network. Anyway, it's a great websiet to use instead of Steemit, especially if Steemit is offline.

If you are using a mobile device, eSteem is a great alternative. They plan on creating a web interface in the future, but as of right now, you cannot access the Steem blockchain on eSteem from your computer.

Another solution to access the Steem blockchain is to use chainBB. This also lets you access the Steem blockchain, but it is the most different from Steemit. It is structured like a forum instead of a social network, so it feels very different. However, it is perfectly nice to use when Steemit is down.

To get Steem from SBD, you can do the following: Go to wallet and click on the small arrow next to your SBD balance. Select the option "Convert to Steem", and just type in the amount of wish to convert. This process will take 3,5 days to complete, so you will not be able to access your founds during this time.
