How to check the value of Steem and SBD

The value of a Steem token is changing all the time, and it is determined by what people are currently trading it for. If many people want to buy versus fewer who wants to sell, then we get a rise in the price, and vice versa.

Checking the current value of the tokens is pretty easy, and most people use the website called Coinmarketcap. This website tells you the price of any cryptocurrency, and got their own page for Steem and SBD.

Despite this being the current price, it might not be what you are able to sell or buy it for. When you buy or sell Steem/SBD you sell to induviduals or corporations who are free to choose their own price, so you should always check their price against the "official" price to see if you get a bad deal!

The value of a SBD should in theory be roughly $1, but this has been proven to not be true. It can change a great deal, so you should always check this before making a deal.
